Where we used to raise a glass or two, (... think of chú Hòa's syrup?)
Remember how we laughed away the hours,
Think of all the great things we would do. (... ăn hàng, gian lận bài vở, viết báo, lưu bút, v.v...)

Those were the days my friends,
We thought they'd never end,
We'd sing and dance for ever and a day.
We'd live the live we'd choose,
We'd fight and never lose,
For we were young and sure to have our way....  

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
